Parkside townhomes for rent
My (23F) boyfriend (23M) wants me to move in but I am not sure I am ready.
2023.06.10 19:24 Realistic-Dot6062 My (23F) boyfriend (23M) wants me to move in but I am not sure I am ready.
Hi! I have been dating my boyfriend for a year and three months long distance. We haven’t met yet due to being full time students who’s schedules haven’t lined up, but we have spoken to each others family members and facetime or call daily. In the fall of this year my boyfriend is moving near his college to finish a second degree and has invited me to move in too, signing a lease and all. This is a big dream of ours, to close the distance, but I am hesitant because I do not yet have a job. Although I have recently begun applying, I am also waiting for acceptance into a masters program which would take up much of my time come fall. The apartment we want to lease is beginning to run out of spots, so to live there we would need to sign now. My boyfriend encourages me to sign anyway under the pretense that he can pay my rent until I have a job, but I would very guilty about this as he would need to work way more while also attending school (he would have enough to pay the rent for both of us for about 6 months, so I would have 6 months to continue looking for a job if I do not immediately find one). He says that if I do not move in, he will have to break up with me because he will have so little time between work and school to maintain a relationship. I do love him very much, but I’m so hesitant given the uncertainty of having a job or getting a masters. What would you do if you were me?

2023.06.10 19:21 Aqvilaa_ Mice problem
My boyfriend, newborn son and I moved into a house February 1st. We rent the upstairs (has a main floor and then the bedrooms are upstairs). There is 3 tenants living in the basement suite (they were already here when we moved in). The very FIRST day we moved in we seen a mouse and caught it! We informed the landlord and she asked if we had left any doors open. We thought that was the reason because we were moving our stuff in and out all day. The days go on and we start seeing/hearing more mice, so we put out traps and catch up to 3-4 a day. At this point we realize that there was a mice problem before we even moved in. Our first concern is our newborn son who was also born 7 weeks early (preemie) and we didn’t know if these mice were carrying any diseases. We have many photos documents and saved just in case, and we have caught over 20 mice on our own with traps we spent money on. The landlords brought in pest control and so far the problem has calmed down but two weeks ago pest control came back and said there is still mice in the house. We stopped putting our own traps out because pest control brought some in. We reazlied the ones they have don’t even catch the mice. It contains a toxin that they eat?!? When they checked the black boxes they said the toxin was all gone so there was obviously mice eating it. Where do the mice go?!? Are they dying in the walls??. These are questions I wasn’t able to ask because they haven’t been back since. I regret not putting our own traps out anymore because I thought the situation was controlled. Another problem is that our lower cupboards smell like pee and it’s a strong smell. I’m assuming it’s from the mice and I checked google, which said the same thing. Since there was a mice problem before we moved in, is it our responsibility to clean the cupboards or the landlord’s responsibility?? We don’t even put our pots and pans down there because the smell is so strong. ANOTHER problem is that the garbage truck only comes ONCE every two weeks, so our garbage bags pile up on the back patio. The downstairs tenants have been here longer and they always fill the garbage bin before we get a chance to put one bag out there. That causes mice to run around on the patio as well, and we pay for the garbage disposal monthly in our utilities but we don’t even get to use it. I’m at a stand still on what to do. Should we cut our losses and move?? I feel like we’re wasting money on mouse traps, garbage disposal and potentially more cleaning supplies to clean the whole kitchen out thoroughly since there is still mice in the house. What do we do? 😭😭

2023.06.10 19:20 Adhesiveness3698 How do I tell her it's over
I(21) have been dating this women(21) for little over a year now and its turned bad. I moved in with her and when I did she quit her job and laid around, did laundry and that's about it while I went to work making $16 an hour. I'd come home and there would be a pile of dishes I would have to do, make dinner, clean, helped pay for her student loans once.
I'm aware I'm an idiot and I should have left when I could but love is blind I suppose.
After some issues with her landlord(her aunt), I moved and my mother wanted me to come back to her place to help out around the land they own. She begged me to ask them if she could too, I should have drawn the line there seeing how lazy she truly was. I tired to save the relationship with her and I doing what we want in a relationship and she could only think of 5 small things and I had a huge list of what I need and want my ambitions and dreams. She's failed to try and help out outside, she complained about helping to plant a garden, yes she pays $500 in rent but she can still help out
Everyone in my family doesn't like her and I honestly am just completely over the relationship after some issues like possible cheating, going out at all hours of the night to be with her friends, not working for over 10 weeks... I can kick her out but that would leave her without a place to go even though she has friends and family. she doesn't drive(to lazy to even try), I'm too much of a caring person and I just want to look her dead in the eyes and tell her to get lost.
Is there anyway I can "help" her move out? Like section 8 housing or should I just save some money and help her pay for a place by her work? I don't want to just kick someone I have a relationship with to the streets.
What do I do in a situation I made like this?

2023.06.10 19:20 Xerxes_Artemisia Flatmate has her family come over twice a month
Hey guys, my flatmate has her boyfriend come stay with her two times a month for 4 days each time. Then she has her step children come 2 days per month.
All this is not known to the rental agency where we are living. I feel like it is taking a toll on me as when those children are there I hesitate to do normal things as they are roaming around the house. They said to her that they feel uncomfortable looking at a man in the house.
I'm afraid that they will involve Garda and I would be schooled without a reason as we all know how children laws are here.
Can someone help me with a solution to make her stop this ? I don't want to seperate her from her children but her children coming to a shared flat and complaining about the person paying rent is not right I think.

2023.06.10 19:19 rouzGWENT [22M] Moving out for the first time with a roommate during the summer - looking for advice
Hello PFC,
I am very confused about the process of moving out and I could really use your help here. My details are as follows:
Age: 22
City: Ottawa
Income at the time of moving out: approximately 74000 pre-tax (government job so maybe roughly 3700 per month after tax; 5700 gross); possible raise to 81000 if the new collective agreement is ratified.
Debt: none
Credit score: 815
Moving date: between July and early September
Apartment type: 2 bedroom anywhere in Ottawa
As for my roommate, he is coming from Poland with approximately $10,000 in savings. When he immigrates to Canada he won't have a job so he will look for employment as soon as he lands here - he will most likely get a "survival" job until he finds something related to his field (IT).
My questions are as follows:
- I have an extensive credit history in Canada, my roommate has none. What is the best way to sign a lease? Sign a lease myself then add him to it? Try to sign both of us at the same time? Or sign it for myself and just have him move in?
- Would having a realtor make a difference? I've never heard about using realtors to rent but maybe the current housing crisis changed things.
- Do you have any other tips for my situation?
Any advise is greatly appreciated :)

2023.06.10 19:18 Loki-Palamedes Cape Town jobs as a student/what should I do?
hello Capetonians :) I’m actually from Joburg. I need some advice and I absolutely cannot seem to do so for myself LMAO - so here I am.
Please bare with me on this.
My mother was in Cape Town for a work trip (she went years ago but this time she actually took a proper tour and look around Cape Town) and she absolutely LOVED Cape Town and told me she would move there in a heartbeat. Honestly, listening to her rave about how different Cape Town is made me sad because I’m a 21 year old student and being in Joburg, 45 minutes away from all the night life and entertainment makes me feel as though I’m not actually living. For the past year I have felt very trapped in Joburg and I can FEEL I need to change my location, but that’s very difficult because it’s not something that can just happen.
Now, my mom comes back with her colleague and she broke a bit of news that her colleague’s gran has a house (in a VERY nice area in CPT but I’m not going to mention where, sorry friends) and she rents the room DIRT cheap. I trust all of this because I know the colleague. Now this has actually bothered me completely because something in me is telling me I need to do something and move. I cant stay and have this feeling anymore, especially since I have stayed here since I was little. My mom told me that we can talk about it after my holiday there (at the end of the year).
One thing she mentioned is that I need to get a job there. I’ve had multiple jobs here in joburg before but left and the struggle to find a job in my radius is insane, it’s not a joke as a student - luckily I have experience. Obviously I would need to manage with the rent of this room but that’s about it. Now, my question, how easy is it as a student to find a part time job in CPT? Secondly, The Myciti bus, does it go to Claremont (I have a campus there I can transfer to).
Please offer as much advice as you guys can give. Go easy on me please! I don’t even know what speech I’m going to give my mom to convince her more.
Love from Joburg :)

2023.06.10 19:17 PoppaBinks Hey guys. I am going this week to purchase an rs660. I am in pa and the closest aprilia dealer is about 2 hours away. I have a trade and am looking for a company or something along those lines who will transport my trade to the dealership in Ohio and then my aprilia back to my house.
I don’t want my first ride on my new bike to be a 2 hour jaunt on roads I’m not familiar with. I’m sure I will get judged for that, but that’s just how I feel. I called aaa and they basically told me I would have to lie to have them tow it. I’m assuming I could rent a trailer through uhaul, but I have never trailered a bike before and am nervous to do so. I will if it becomes my only option. Any good recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

2023.06.10 19:17 TheRootMaster Can unpermitted sub-house/tiny-home be rented smoothly, legally?
Basically I rent out the main house, and live in a sub-house I call it - portion of the garage, and unpermitted room attached to the garage, and restroom, unpermitted. The plumming is all unpermitted.
It works great for me. It's like a slightly bigger tiny house. Can I in theory rent this out as a unit? Cuz I'd like to go on the road.... Will it get some government people upset that I'm doing it? I don't mind living with unpermitted utility hookups but, idk if there's an actual issue once it's rented out that would land me in a world of hurt? Probably just un-necessary fear, but I don't want a super huge fine for trying to rent it out...
Any advice on odd rental units like a tiny home? I've seen some even rent tiny homes via airbnb I believe, so it seems doable. This one is actually built into the home though... Ideas/advice?
If it helps, and you know relative info on it, I'm in Oregon USA

2023.06.10 19:16 Severe-Peace8481 Hi everyone 👋
I'm new here so not sure if I qualify for help or not but here I go... A couple of months ago my husband and I were homeless. Fast forward to today we now are renting a room in a great boarding house but it took every penny we had. We have a mini fridge and microwave so cooking can be a little pricey. We have been managing pretty well until now but I don't qualify to go back to the pantry for another couple of weeks and my SNAP appointment is set for early July. Hoping I can get some help with just a few basic groceries until I can pay forward probably in August. My Amazon list is this:
https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3J3ZM9F1WS2I4?ref_=wl_sharezon list
I also added a couple of wish items like a one eyed burner (we are allowed to cook in our room). Even if you can't help good thoughts and prayers are welcome as well. Thank you all for reading this!

2023.06.10 19:16 wonderfulcaricature Can My Landlord Agree to Give Back Last Month Rent Deposit?
My landlord is selling the house and we are expected to move out the last day of our tenancy (August 31). I have an apartment that I’m interested in with start date of July 15.
I was thinking about asking my landlord if I can ask for my last month rent deposit back (August) if I move out by the end of July. If they agree, would there be any legal issues? What should the correct process look like?
Of course, I understand if they disagree there’s nothing I can pursue since I’m on a fixed 12 month lease (been living there since September 2020).
If it’s relevant, the landlord said we did not have to provide him formal notice for moving out since they are selling the house.
All advice is appreciated - thank you!

2023.06.10 19:15 Collectingalt How difficult is it to get an apartment with rental history but no credit? I can pay the entire lease up front if necessary.
I don't do credit. I've never had any credit cards or debt or loans. I literally don't have a credit score. I'm not here for a lecture on the benefits of using credit cards and loans properly etc. I've rented my current place for a while and had to have someone else vouch for me (not cosign) to get it. However now I have rental history so it should be no problem going forward right? Wrong. From what I've read many places will automatically deny applications from people without good credit. This is before you even get to communicate that you have plenty of money for the lease.
How would you go about this? Email or call to discuss it before applying or just hope you pass the initial processes for applying? I know some places are willing to work with you if you can pay more up front and some may just want to make sure you can actually afford the lease and not require any extra payment.

2023.06.10 19:12 _my_anaconda_does_ Anyone in the Vet Tech program or an animal lover looking for a roommate? (Davis Campus)
So I’m starting my first year in the Vet Tech program this September and I need to find a room to rent. I have a small dog who is very sweet and potty trained so I’d need to find a place where the landlord and roommate/s would be cool with me bringing my dog. I’m looking for a private room (shared kitchen and washroom is no problem), and a parking spot is a must. A fenced backyard is a huge bonus but not necessary.

2023.06.10 19:09 Jus17173 Date with an alien
Ko-fi "So, tell me about yourself." The female alien from the planet Azegon T-45 said to Terry. She was tall about 6'6 with silver teeth, purple eyes and caramel skin like butter. Her hair was actually part of her skin that had split off into several ends on top of her head and were all a crimson hue. She regarded him above her plate of 'Hungiu' A dish Terry knew nothing about but looked to resembled a foot dipped in frosting to his human eyes.
Terry peered over a plate of spaghetti and meatballs. What she'd said weighed heavily on his soul, what could he possibly tell her that would make her see him as a man of value? He'd recently lost his job after his boss walked in on him masturbating in his cubicle. He had no friends except the mailman who brings his mail and talks about shagging his neighbour's wife. He often wondered whether he should regard the mailman as a friend for confiding in him about his neighbour's promiscuous wife. His rent was due last month so for the past few weeks he'd been avoiding his landlord by jumping in through the back window of his apartment that he always left open, never using the front door. He also might be having hemorrhoids which he needed to check soon. All in all, his life was a disaster and he'd only agreed to this date after his mailman had assured him that Azegon T-45 women had the ability to relieve stress during sex.
"During sex they secrete a hormone that's like cocaine that eradicates your worries and lowers your stress levels for hours on end. They'll only bang you if you show them you're a man of value though" His mailman had said before hooking him up with the number of an Azegon T-45 woman. With the galactic federation linking planets with thousands of sentient life hence broadening an individual's possibilities, Terry still wondered why he felt stuck and in need of shagging an alien in order to have some semblance of what happiness is. But how would he come across as a man of value? He was by far the most apathetic man in the universe, he didn't care about anything and that's probably why he'd started masturbating at work, at first he'd done it for the thrill that later evolved into a habit of which he was curious to see whether he'd get caught. He did get caught, just as he was climaxing. It was a sticky affair.
The alien surveyed him, waiting for a response. He cleared his throat. "Sorry, you wanted to know something about me? Well, yesterday I woke up to the sound of birds chirping at my window. It sounded like music to anyone else's ears but to me it was a disturbing sound. I went to the window and sure enough, several birds were lined on a branch in a tree outside my apartment. Singing their God awful songs, I suddenly got angry and grabbed a shoe and hurled it at them. The birds dispersed then I realized I needed my shoe back. I climbed out of the window in my boxers and vest to retrieve the shoe only to bump into a man coming out of my neighbour's house, the man was my mailman, he'd just come from fucking my neighbour's wife, he approached me and told me about it." Terry took a sip of the cognac in hand. "So there I was, outside my apartment in my boxers with a shoe in hand, talking to a man who was zipping up his pants while telling me of the reason his zipper had been down in the first place. It was at that moment that I realized my life is shit. It came as an epiphany, everything pulled up together and the realization of great truth hit me. My life is shit and you know what the worst thing was?"
She leaned forward. "What?"
"The birds, they were still singing their God awful song."
"Are you those people who hook up with Planet Azegon T-45 aliens for the stress we relieve during sex?" She asked. Her purple eye rapidly scanning him up and down.
Terry leaned back in his chair. "I jerk off at work, got fired the other day for doing it. Thing is, I wanted to be fired. So there I was beating my meat and the manager walks in just as I'm climaxing, I do it standing up so I can look at people's faces across the cubicles, I mastered how to beat my meat without my entire body moving with the jerking motion. I normally catch someone's eye from across the cubicles as I climax but the manager stepped right in and I turned and busted a nut all over him. You know what I did immediately after?"
"What?"
"I laughed. It was the funniest thing in the world and it got me fired, irony."
"You're creepy."
"Tell me about yourself." Terry said, leaning back in his chair.
"I'm the fourth born of the litter." She stared. "We're born in litters on planet Azegon T-45 and—"
"What does the 45 stand for?"
"What?"
"The 45 in Azegon T-45, what does it stand for? I hate the number 45, takes me about 45 minutes to fall asleep, when I was caught jerking off the manager gave me a tongue lashing for 45 minutes and my mailman wears an undershirt with the number 45 printed on it. I hate that number."
"It's the number of our position on the conveyer galactic belt." She answered.
"Oh, that's nice."
"You're a weird man."
"And you were born in a litter, can't you see the connection between us? Me with my weird implications about existence. You and those purple eyes that were born in a litter." Terry said and smiled.
"You like my purple eyes?" She asked.
"No, I don't care about eyes."
"Oh"
"You know what I do like? The fact you can take away stress during sex. You can make a fortune as a prostitute." Terry said with a laugh.
"Excuse me?" She retorted, a hint of anger to her voice.
"There's so many men who are stressed out, yet you only give in to men of value. Why don't you just place value on the act itself and become rich? Then you'll seek men of no value whom you'll find plenty of."
"You jerk! I'm not a whore!" She flung her dish at him, the foot like meat with frosting hit him on the face and slid down his nose. She then stood up, "You're a sick man of no value." She walked away from the table.
"There's plenty of us around." Terry said to her retreating back. He checked his watch, the date had taken exactly forty five minutes. "Damn it." He cursed.

2023.06.10 19:09 Useless-Use-Less AI Generating Voice Acting Passed On Voices Library
It's fascinating to see how people perceive the future of AI—some with fear, others with optimism. Recently, I've come across numerous articles and discussions about the potential for AI to replace performers. While this concept can be viewed from different angles, I'd like to share an idea that I believe could be both productive and useful. Imagine a scenario where a company approaches renowned voice actor Nolan North, offering to record his voice and its variations in order to create an AI emulation. Now, expand this concept to include a hundred more talented voice actors, whose voices are also added to this AI library. The company then rents out these AI tools to various game or movie studios, allowing them to generate voice acting based on their scripts and even sell customized voice packages. The primary benefit of this approach is the potential to significantly lower production costs. Game developers, especially those working on large-scale projects like MMOs, could now afford to have extensive voice acting throughout their games. It's a win-win situation—the voice actors receive ongoing loyalty rewards based on the number of times their voice packages are sold, ensuring they're recognized and compensated for their contributions. This innovative use of AI opens up exciting possibilities for the entertainment industry, enabling immersive storytelling experiences while maintaining financial feasibility. It's important to remember that AI can be a powerful tool when harnessed responsibly and in collaboration with human talent.

2023.06.10 19:09 julianina Denied for freedom unlimited
My boyfriend applied for the Chase freedom unlimited card and was denied. He doesn’t really have a credit score because he pays everything in cash and has no monthly payments except $700 rent. His income is $150k. Is there anyway he can dispute the decision and prove that he can pay off the card? The only reason he is opening it is to build his credit to eventually get a mortgage/buy a house.

Will this hurt his nonexistent credit score? When should he try applying for another one? (Banker suggested a secured credit card, also said that you shouldn’t apply to more than 3 loans/cards within a few month period)
ETA: he doesn’t specifically want a Chase credit card, I just suggested this one to him because of the benefits (my fault)

2023.06.10 19:08 TR_KingCobrah With our combined income, what can we reasonable spend on a house?
Me and my girlfriend are getting married in the fall and currently our plan is to get a house in the next year an a half, were currently trying to figure out what we can afford. With my job, I make just under 60k, great benefits, 401k and a company vehicle (so I don't have to pay for gas or insurance at all, which is a huge benefit). She makes 55k yearly with good benefits. Monthly expenses : Food - 400$ Her student loans : 500$ Social outings : 300$ Rent - 1000$ Extra - 300$ Her car payment/insurance/gas - 400$ Petcare - 100$ We both have been focusing on pay down our credit cards each month and have a combined amount of 7k. So currently 3000-3200$ is what were spending on average each month. We both are in our mid 20s and we both have a credit score of around 720 so hopefully well be able to get a good rate.
Based on these metrics we think that a house around the 230k - 250k range for a 30 year mortgage and a 10,000$ down payment seems doable. Does that seem like a reasonable range for us to be looking into based on our finances?

2023.06.10 19:06 Remarkable-Shape8630 AITA for not taking up for my family after my bf disrespected them?
I 20f have been with my bf for 4 months now he has a 2 year old child and he’s almost 22. He currently isn’t working but I’m trying to help him get a job so for the past few months we’ve been holding it together with my income from my job. I do work full time & I’m working on getting a 2nd job because I have to help him.
For context, I got approved for an apartment 6 months ago and when i met him he was coming over at my place a lot, he kept asking for money for finances for his son or for his sons birthday party or for help with his portion of rent at his moms or whatever it was. This caused me to get behind on my rent and so I had to break my lease and move out before I got evicted. I’m currently living with family and trying to get a new apartment by September.
Yesterday, my boyfriend asked for $250 and whhe came to get it, he blocked my brothers car in and so they got into a huge argument, and they already don’t like him because they feel he’s using me. The day ended with my bf calling my brother the b word and telling him to “f himself”. My family screamed and yelled at me for “allowing him” toTo disrespect them but I told them the way they speak about him, he has a right to defend himself.
I told them I’m never leaving him and he told me he wasn’t going to leave me because of my family. They proceeded to call him a leech and make me out to be the bad guy. Although I am disappointed in his behavior and him making me lose my place, I don’t feel like I’m the asshole in this situation. I’m not the one who did this. AITA?

2023.06.10 19:05 hdnslz_w AITA for being mad at my friend
My friend, 22 (m), moved in with my boyfriend and I about 3 months ago rent free. He met my best friend, F (19), when i had her over.He liked her but said he would never pursue it. She told me she had no interest in him. A month later, he took her on a "date" a few ti mes, still telling me nothing was between them. She told me the same. This went on for the past few months. He then met my other childhood best friend, F (18), and told me he had a crush on her and wanted to date her. However, F (18) told me she would never consider him/she has a boyfriend. There had been a lot of instances where he was cuddling with F (19) in my apartment, trying to hang out with her, ask details about a new guy she was with, etc. He denied anything between them, as did she. One night, she fell asleep in his room and i heard them the whole night sleeping together. They denied it completely and told me they would never do that to me behind my back. I knew they were lying, but i gave them time to come clean to me before i'd be upset since it's really not my business what they do. Weeks went by, and he kept making a point to tell me he would never sleep with her, he would never lie to me, that he's been honest this whole time to me etc. Last night i confronted him and he also came clean that he has been dating my other friend, F (18). Neither of them told me anything about it, he's been cheating on my close friends with each other, and lying to me about it to my face. He threw it back on me saying i'm stupid to be mad. We have a vacation coming up, and both F (18) and F (19) are coming. he's sleeping with both of them and they're going to find out in another state stuck for two weeks with him. AITA?

2023.06.10 19:05 Firehead24 Issue with landlord.
Okay guys I want to keep this short and to the point
- My wife and I move into a home for rent earlier this year.
- It was disclosed that we would be paying for the utilities, however no amount was ever discussed.
- few months go by and it is settled that my wife and I pay a given amount for the previous months rent and that the current cycle of bills would determine what we pay from here on out. He would sent proof of the utilities and that is our new set rate. No issue with that, we paid the previous months rent. He wanted us to pay a flat $200 in utilities for a unit that could certainly not be $200 in reality.
- he messages me a few days after saying that I needed to send him utilities in which I respond stating he had never sent any numbers or photos over. He then sends a long message stating that 2/3 utilities are a fixed rate, and he is now demanding an extra amount of money be paid to compensate for the previous paid amount for the earlier months, on top of a random prorate amount from the last week of February when we moved in.
There is one meter shared between our bottom unit and the upper unit of this home. The upper unit is a 3 bed 2 bath to our 2 bed 1 bath.
This man is currently still in small claims after consecutive losses with our neighbor and it makes me worried of his intentions. Also the fact that if these were fixed rates, why is that just now being disclosed?
