2023.06.10 20:40 Dxvilish_Bxnny I am a human repellent. How do I fix this?
I am well groomed guy and i noticed that people are avoiding me. Even beggars, retail workers and people who go around trying to make you buy stuff. People in my university classes are mostly avoiding me as well, some even introduce themselves to my friends except for me. I tried to talk more and all of them looks like they don't want to interact with me and just replied like once. So i tried to smile more, same thing happened as well. I am lonely and this thing is digging me deeper into the depths on loneliness. I'm scared if it is going to affect me getting a job as well since i am still studying. I don't think im that ugly since I do get compliments from girls from time to time.

2023.06.10 20:40 Seee_kayyy Instructor suggestions
Does anyone know of a way to give suggestions to specific instructors? One instructor I frequently take at Castro talks sooooo much during class it’s so distracting and hard to enjoy the music. And I’m limited to two time slots because of work schedule and she teaches both. She’s really nice and sweet, I just wish there was a way to give a gentle suggestions.

2023.06.10 20:39 Excellent-Hamster-53 I'm NOT working & making 🤑
Hi there, I'm a German working in Germany and recent graduate from University with Master's Degree. One of the top in my class. To pay off some debt, i started working as a trainee in a lil company with around 50 employees. My plan was never to stay there. Just take the money. I was employed to work in a project for which I was not guided well by the project manager. She ended it with shouting at me for two hours about how stupid I am.. after a few weeks, I finally told the management and pointed out the the project manager attacked me personally and was not able to give me constructive feedback. Management didn't shit, but removed me from the project and just put me in another without informing much about it. New project, new people and new level of ignorance. Nobody's doing ever anything at all. Most work is unnecessary. I'm too quick at doing stuff, asking for more work...cause I'll go nuts doing nothing all day.. one colleague admitted she watched animal documentaries during the day for hours??... Somehow, me asking for more work gets me trouble.. i am giving weird feedback and again full of contradictions ..either I'm to distanced too colleagues or making too friendly? Well, that's it for me. This company sucks. They have a weird toxic work culture. I'm their diversity hire, as I was told, the only person of color... I went to my doc, gotta sick note now for a month. I get fully paid. Looking for another job to fill in for the time until I find sth interesting. Taking care of myself. Took me 3 weeks to get over the company's work culture after 4 months and feel like myself again!. I hope the doc gives me another two week is sick leave and then again two weeks and again two weeks while fully paid... gee, that's so nice! :D

2023.06.10 20:39 JonDCafLikeTheDrink Forced to attend graduation. Never doing that again
So I just finished my first year as a high school teacher. Today, I was forced to attend graduation. Not a good thing for three reasons: 1) I don't do well with large open spaces (mild agoraphobia). I'm fine in desolate areas like the desert, but open areas where people congregate is torture. 2) I don't do well with crowds (I can handle the student body in between class shifts because it's not constant, but this is the student body plus all their loved ones so that times eight) 3) loud noises at certain pitches trigger auditory migraines for me. It's why I avoid pep rallies like the plague. All three of these in combination trigger some really bad panic attacks. So I made a point after taking tickets of avoiding the inside of the convention center. The screams I heard from outside the convention hall were loud. If I was in that area, I would absolutely have given me a mother of all migraines. I'm not fucking doing this next year. They'll give me my role for next year. I know that. But I don't want to have a breakdown. I'm just going to quietly not show up for graduation next year. They'll never even miss me, I'm just not that noticable to the administration. They can't force me to expose myself to that level of anxiety again. Fuck em

2023.06.10 20:38 dabberpeps Using AI as teachers
At one of my meetings with my new district today, they showed us all how to use ChatGPT to create and expand on lesson plans and write stories/response questions to use with our classes. Super cool and time saving, but something about it feels so strange. Disingenuous is how it makes me feel but maybe I’m dramatic. I know I’m not being paid enough to have a savior complex about this, and it’s logically the direction everything is going, but still. Has anyone else been taught to use this at their schools?

2023.06.10 20:35 dreamlight7000 What can I use to cover up my chest area in an unpadded swimsuit?
I'm taking swimming lessons soon, but the swimsuit I got ended up being unpadded at the chest. I know nipple covers are a thing, but would they stay on long enough for a 45 minute class?
Usually, when I see "waterproof" on these, I think they just mean "sweat proof" or anything that isn't being submerged in water for extended periods of time based on the reviews.

It seems like most freshmen cs majors are taking CIS 1600 with Rajiv in the fall rather than in the spring with an easier professor. Is it really worth taking this class in the fall instead of the spring, especially since freshman fall is students' first semester at Penn and it's suggested to get accustomed to it first? Why or why not?

| 9 Weeks into a prep for a competition I now won't be competing in, due to, well, life. We all have life's ups and downs and obstacles, and such as life throws at us, I hit a hurdle that requires 100% of my attention, so I've put my prep on the back burner. As ultimately, family must come first in terms of priorities. I'll likely look to go into an off season now and get bigger ready for a comp next year Instead. However, I thought I'd share with you, the progress I did make in 9 weeks, the red boxers pic is the first, leading up to the dragon ball stringer the other day. And bits from inbetween. I was due to enter a mixed disability class. submitted by zednero237 to Brogress [link] [comments] |
2023.06.10 20:34 Pleasant_Word1295 Why are my parents such assholes? How can I escape them?
Okay so I'm only a fourteen year old girl, and I looked up all of my state laws and whatnot, so the only way for me to move away with my grandparents would be with parents consent, and my parents wont allow me to get a job so I can't save up money and run away. But anyway, here's my problems.
I would hope thinking about killing your parents when you’re angry is not normal, but sometimes it happens for me. So let’s start with my dad. My dad thinks that he’s the most funny fucking person in the entire world. His “humor” is either calling me fat, calling my mom fat, or saying some stupid obnoxious thing to some of his friends who are women. I’ve said a few times that I hate how I look and my parents brush it off and say, “you shouldn’t”. My dad thinks that he’s also smart, although he gets all of his knowledge from facebook and the only diploma he has is from elementary school. Oh and he loves using my embarrassing stories to get laughs from people at family functions because what better way to grow a bond with your daughter than to embarrass her in front of people? I go to a private school so my classes are slightly more challenging that public school so I struggle. My grades aren't terrible, but one of my grades is. The rest of them are 80's and above, but according to my dad, "my grades are in the fucking toilet". Even though I've asked for a tutor multiple times, it's my fault.
My mom is slightly different but just as equally annoying. She believes my phone is the issue when it's literally my lifeline. I don't have that many friends because I have pretty bad social anxiety and being a teenager now is all hookups and drinking. They also don't understand that to fit in now, you need to dress a certain way and have social media. I don't even like drinking so I would never do anything terrible but my parents wont even let me have tik tok, which eight year olds have. Their reasoning is that "it's a chinese spy app". My mom and dad make fun of the clothes I wear, the music I listen to, and pick on basically everything I do. My mother threatens to punish me because I don't have any friends and the past few months have been awful for me because my best friend basically dropped me. I made new friends at school this year but they dropped me too and spread a rumor about me. My parents send me to a school I hate and honestly I just hate everything about my life. My mental health is literally dead and I feel like moving in with my grandparents in florida is the only way for me to be happy. The sun, a fresh start, people who won't antagonize me everyday. Don't even get me started on my spoiled little brother. They're awful and I seriously don't know what to do. They curse at me constantly and belittle me and I really hate it here. Please help.

2023.06.10 20:32 MarketingActual8475 AITA for telling my sister nothing she ever does is more important my wife’s school?
My wife decided earlier this year she wanted to get a Master’s Degree in business. She’s been working full-time and attending school full-time on nights and weekends. She’s taking summer classes so she can graduate sooner.
One evening when I wasn’t home from work, my sister, a single mother who lives with my parents, came by unannounced and just dropped off her kids, 6m and 3y, because she had something to do. My wife was flustered because she was trying to get a mini paper done, and my sister said f u, here are my kids and left.
I left work early and took the kids back to my parents, and I found out my sister had a random meetup with her best friend because her friend got dumped. She thought this was important enough to disrupt my wife. We argued over how irresponsible my sister is, and I told her, “Nothing you ever do in your life will be as important as my wife’s school or career.”
My sister started crying about how I was being so unfair to her. It’s hard for her as a single mom at her age. I told her you made that mistake twice and thought everyone would help you. I’m not, and my wife’s not. Raise your own kids.
This made my sister cry harder, and my mom kicked me out of the house for disrespecting my sister and her children. This whole thing could have been avoided if my sister didn’t act entitled to think she could drop off her kids in the first place.

2023.06.10 20:32 IelReaglia A PvP Battle Gone Wrong (Or Right?)
I just had to share this unexpected turn of events that took place in our recent D&D 5e game. Let me preface this by saying that I play a high-level Halfling Divination Wizard, and boy, did things take an interesting twist during a 3v1 PvP battle encouraged by our DM.
Before the encounter, I'd cast Contingency on myself. The plan was to trigger the spell Far Step once I cast Thunder Step, and little did I know just how crucial this decision would be. As the party's martial classes - a Fighter, a Hexblade Warlock, and a Rogue - surrounded me, I could feel the tension in the air.
The battle began, and thanks to my trusty Shield spell and a Portent roll, I managed to avoid taking any significant hits early on. As the party surrounded me proper, I unleashed a 7th level Thunder Step. The damage rolls were quite high, and the opponents' saving throws, partly thanks to yet another fortunate Portent roll, were abysmal. Then, my Contingency triggered, activating Far Step immediately. I of course teleported even further away from danger within the same round. It was a move they didn't see coming.
I was then easily able to hide from my bewildered opponents. After another round of teleporting to leave them with no idea of where I was, I cooked a Delayed Blast Fireball & put a Fire Shield on myself. Then, allowing them to find me, I let loose that cooked mote of fire, hitting them pretty hard...
When the smoke cleared and the dust settled after only 2 more rounds, I emerged as the sole victor of the battle. The sheer disbelief on the faces of my companions was palpable, mixed with a tinge of frustration and resentment. The game continued, but the atmosphere had shifted. They were upset with my unexpected reaction (which was to try my best not to die) and mainly because I had won against the odds, contrary to what the DM had envisioned for the story.
To be fair, I must commend our DM for not redacting anything throughout the game. We strictly adhered to the rolls of the dice, which created a truly immersive and unpredictable experience. Encounters were designed to be to the death, adding an extra layer of intensity to our campaign.
However, it seems my character's victory has left a sour taste in the mouths of the other players. While I understand their disappointment, I believe it's essential to remember that D&D is a game where the outcomes are shaped by chance, strategy, and a touch of luck. My victory was the result of careful planning, clever spell choices, and the fickle whims of fate. And, of course, a desire for my character's survival, given all of the time invested in him.
Curious to hear some thoughts on this...

Hi. I am Chaminade class of 2024. I am trying to revive this subreddit. Help me do this by sharing with all Chaminade people you know. Also say what class you are graduating or graduated from!

2023.06.10 20:31 Workinghard004 Have any of you transfer students taken more than 2 years to graduate at UF?
I just transferred and I looked at my degree audit and have to take about 97 credits worth of classes which include my pre-health classes. My question is that can I stay another year or will UF seriously kick me out? Like I’m still gonna take classes for my major but it’s def gonna take a bit longer.
