I am about to go into the final interview for a company and during my first interview I had asked for around 85k. This was around 3 months ago. Salaries are now an average of 95k on pay scale, 85k on zippia, 100k on glass door with people from my city. Just from 2022 salary averages for new highers have gone from ~88k to 100k.
I plan to go to final interview as normal and just about when we are about to finish I will ask about salary negotiation.
I simply will ask for 95k and I live in a upper middle cost of living city so I think that is fair and to be honest I feel I am the perfect fit for the job. I had an internship with them and I practically aced their interview questions.
This will be a SWE position in the south as this will be my first job out of school.

Every shop I have visited since 2017 has had major labor shortages and it’s only getting worse. They need people for any position and are willing to provide training.
One of the main reason of the shortage is because a large population of this group are retiring soon and the shops are not able to backfill the positions quick enough.
Most of the US shops I visited who are really hurting for people are in the Midwest / MidEast. If you are not local to these areas ask if they are willing to offer a relocation bonus.

- Teaches HDFS, Hive, Spark and overview of aws big data tools over 150 hours (3+3 hours over weekend for 25 weeks)
- There are morning and evening batches
- So a total of 4 batches yearly
- Course is offered at an average price of 16k
- Every batch has 500 students
- Majority of them are people from non IT aiming to switch to big data
- Every time you refer someone to his course, you get 2k as referral bonus. I have screenshots of him showing that 500 referrals are cleared their referral bonus in the last 4 batches
- So on an average he gets 14k from each of those 500 students
- That is 70 lakh per batch and 2.8 crores per year! Out of this, his costs include salary to one person who sends messages to students
- Rest is all his income. No Gst paid on any of these. Not even income tax
- A ca friend of mine looked into his company financials through third party tools and it says the company only earns a lakh per year! God, I love India
- Most of these people just refer any one lost or confused so that can make 2k per referral
- Most of the students don't know sql and yet they are taught hive and spark-sql syntax directly
- He taught spark without using the word partitions even once!
- They never wrote a program in life. They are expected to learn scala on their own and follow his course which is based on scala spark
- Assignments are just re running the code he gave during next lecture
- he provides resume templates so that everyone can mention 2-4 years of big data experience on resume
- A contact of a fake company to provide fake salary slips and experience letter is also provided. Again, god, I love India.

First of all, thanks for being patient with us. Our decision to shut the subreddit down for 48 hours was positively received (93% upvoted) by the community save for a couple of redditors. I've devoted a good chunk of my time to write this update to keep you informed before shite goes down, so I hope you'll read this post in its entirety.
He slandered Apollo's developer yet again, claiming Christian was two-faced with his communication privately and publicly but could not come up with any evidence. Steve then proceeded to lie about working with other third-party app developers when in truth, they were repeatedly IGNORED, like robocalls and Nigerian princes.
He also inadvertently revealed he was using canned responses, forgetting to remove the "A:" prepend after replying to a blind user... only to edit it afterwards. However! Make no mistake, this is a huge improvement over editing other users' comments by modifying their database entries. We all start somewhere :')
The AMA promised a whole lot of nothing that isn't immediately available to any of us, and the plan to charge outrageous prices for API access is running full steam ahead, like the Spurs' race for seis.
The free tier allows 100 or 10 queries per minute depending on authentication access. The bot is used by half of existing team subreddits to my knowledge, but might be decommissioned or heavily modified to stay within the free tier limits. Reducing the API call rate will render the feature useless as box scores in essence, provide real-time data, else they don't offer any substantial value to anyone.
Quoting the post Steve wrote, developers can contact reddit through a support ticket if their bots require access to the Data API above the free limits, but bigger developers have been ignored for months and months on end, so it doesn't exactly inspire confidence that they will get a free upgrade to a different tier. If push comes to shove, we'll replace it with another bot that creates game threads only, sans any other details.

How you can support the protest better, by order of magnitude/effectiveness
- Cancel Reddit premium, even if you've never paid for it, as a big fuck you to the establishment.
- Stay off Reddit by blocking *.reddit.com from your router, VPN, firewall or browser. You can also set up apps like Forest to keep you off it for a set amount of time. Be productive in real life. Meet new people through Bumble BFF, Meetup, Tinder, Hinge, Grindr, Raya, Ashley Madison... The world is your oyster.
- Uninstall the official Reddit app on Android or iOS. Your storage space is running low, I heard. Give it the App/Play Store rating it deserves, which is a rotten egg.
- Uninstall all third-party apps. Remember them teats covered with basketball stickers? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
- Do not post, comment on or upvote/downvote Reddit posts. I hear it can cause eye cancer. And cancer, is straight up a bloody turrible time.
- Install any of the third-party apps like Apollo, RIF, Sync, Boost, Relay and others. Discover what superior reddit browsing experience is like and lament the loss of a great product after the 30th.
- Browse old.reddit.com with ad-blocking software like uBlock Origin turned on. Nostalgia brings frisson. And frisson... makes you orgasm. I have the science to prove it.

- AskHistorians has a very good bit on API access which I reckon is mandatory reading. It goes into detail how admins have promised minimal disruption; moderation support but did not or could not follow up on, and at times even reneged on. They all know how to dance the moonwalk, alright.
- u/Dall0o created Reddark to show the status of all subreddits who committed to the blackout. I suggest you bookmark it so you can watch them shutter without visiting Reddit. It's like watching the US vote for either Biden or Trump, but spicier because the internet does spicy best.
- 160/3588 subreddits have gone dark already as of writing, notably TIHI and wellthatsucks. TropicalWeather has decided to shut down indefinitely and will be a Discord-only community from here on. I'm currently unemployed and I have been going to interviews lately. Yesterday I went to an interview with the hiring manager and I was instructed on the phone, by who I believe to be HR, to dress up professionally for the interview, to wear a tie, shave and all of that. When I arrive there the manager was wearing shorts and flip flops. He seemed to be trying really hard to get me to accept the job but only offered me an average salary and was surprised and I wasn't thrilled when he told me the amount. He gave me a week to accept the offer. Honestly I think I'll politely and respectfully decline it, probably on Monday.
